AOmA is the conference truly bridging the worlds of adaptive and antifragile organizations and software architecture. We bring together thought leaders from both worlds — join us in Berlin, April 6–7, 2027.
What is AOmA?
The term adaptive organizations is gaining traction recently because it describes very well what the intention behind many of the efforts of the last decades was. Giving more agency to the people within organizations while simultaneously making the organization more resilient to change and faster to adopt to the changes of the markets. Key traits typically include:
- decentralized decision-making,
- fast feedback loops,
- safety to experiment and fail,
- learning as ongoing, not front-loaded.
The convergence of software architecture and modern organizational development is a critical aspect of modern product development. However, until recently, there were limited opportunities for experts, practitioners, and thought leaders from both communities to exchange ideas.
That’s why we invite you to join us in Berlin April 6–7, 2027 for a unique conference that brings these worlds together.

From AmA to AOmA
AOmA started in 2019 as an idea that evolved into the well known Agile-meets-Architecture (AmA) conference Berlin.
We have noticed that organizations struggled with the marriage between what makes organizations nimble, agile, adaptive, and antifragile on the one hand and software architecture on the other hand. Sometimes the first takes precedence, sometimes the latter. Our aim with the conference is to encourage conversation between practitioners of these different domains, to deepen understanding and respect, and to find new ways of achieving common goals for modern organizations.
So why the new name? In today’s turbulent world the adaptability and antifragility of organizations matter more than ever before. The term Agile on the other hand has become so overloaded that it lost most of its meaning — and we want a conference where we talk about what really matters: how the efforts to sustain adaptive organizations intersect with the things we need in good software architecture. Hence the new name.
